Dr Claire Hucker - GP living with FL

Dr Claire Hucker is 51 years old and has been an NHS GP for nearly 20 years. She is also a busy mum of two teenagers. She was diagnosed with FL in 2019, which was a very strange and shocking experience, as she suddenly found herself in the role of patient rather than doctor. She underwent O-CHOP chemotherapy and, fortunately, her post-treatment scans showed no evidence of disease. She feels very lucky to have remained well since then. She focuses on a range of lifestyle measures to keep both her body and mind as strong and healthy as possible. She is deeply grateful to the FLF, who are working tirelessly to find a cure for this disease.

Surabhi Chaturvedi - Psychotherapist

Surabhi Chaturvedi is an integrative psychotherapist with a background in clinical psychology. She leads a team of psychological therapists in a leading Haematology, Stem Cell Transplant, and Cellular Therapies unit in King’s College Hospital, London. The unit provides psychological support to patients and families affected by blood cancers and bone marrow failure, and offers training on psychological care of Haematology patients.
