What is ICML?
The ICML is a prestigious global event that serves as a platform for international experts, researchers, clinicians, and patient advocates to come together and share their knowledge, recent updates, and experiences in the field of lymphoma research and treatment. Located in the scenic city of Lugano, Switzerland, ICML attracts experts and key opinion leaders from across the globe every 2 years.Â
Why are we going?
The Follicular Lymphoma Foundation is attending the 18-ICML in Lugano to engage with leading experts in the field, build meaningful relationships, and stay at the forefront of scientific and clinical advances in lymphoma care. By participating in this global gathering, we aim to bring back the latest knowledge and insights to directly benefit the follicular lymphoma patient community.
In addition to attending the main conference, we’re proud to be hosting our own satellite symposium for the second time running. We will be shining a spotlight on the unique challenges and opportunities in follicular lymphoma, and advancing our mission to drive change for everyone affected by this disease.
FLF satellite symposium – “Follicular Lymphoma: Charting our Progress Towards a Cure”
The FLF are delighted to have been invited to host a satellite symposium during the 18-ICML, entitled “Follicular Lymphoma: Charting our Progress Towards a Cure“.
Our distinguished speakers will share the latest advancements in follicular lymphoma clinical and laboratory research, then discuss how we might use these advances to develop new approaches to treating and curing FL. This event marks a significant step forward in raising awareness and fostering collaboration amongst the top lymphoma experts across the world.Â
Dr Smith, the FLF’s Chief Medical Officer, will open the symposium with video footage from a member of our FL patient community. We are bringing powerful patient insights to the core of the symposium program, highlighting what cure means to those living with FL. Dr Smith will then bring together all three expert panellists – guiding a stimulating panel discussion on how we are progressing towards a cure in FL. This will provide a unique opportunity to share knowledge, engage in thought-provoking conversations, and collectively paint a picture for our path to future curative approaches in FL.Â
