Webinar: Caring & Coping - supporting the person you love through FL

 Friday 31 July 2026, 5am PT, 8am ET, 12pm UTC, 1pm BST

When someone you love is diagnosed with follicular lymphoma, your world changes too. You become a source of strength, a research navigator, an appointment companion, and an emotional anchor. Any one of these would feel challenging, but navigating them all at once while managing your own emotions can feel overwhelming. This webinar is here to support you!

This free FLF webinar is designed for the partners, parents, children, friends and others who sit alongside someone living with FL. We’ll hear directly from people who have been exactly where you are, and come out the other side with practical wisdom to share.

Sally Hurman, will be sharing her experiences supporting her husband Gav and how she navigated their journey for the past 12 years. We will also get the inside scoop of what it really feels like to be the other side, as the person living with FL; with Steve Mann sharing how his family supported him and what was most helpful.

  • What is follicular lymphoma, and what does it mean for our lives?
  • How can I support my loved one through treatment without losing myself in the process?
  • What should I know about clinical appointments and how can I help without taking over?

Steve Mann living with follicular lymphoma

Steve Mann, FL Voice

Steve was informed he had follicular lymphoma on April 1st 2016 (yes really, April 1st!) after a biopsy while having his tonsils removed. Later that year a bone marrow biopsy revealed there was significant involvement of FL. He was successfully treated with the chemo-immunotherapy bendamustine and rituximab with and has not relapsed at this stage.

Having been divorced for 16 years Steve was single, but shared his home with his 20 year old daughter Sarah, his youngest child. Whilst his two sons helped him to and from his rounds of treatment, it was his daughter who assisted Steve in dealing with the various side effects associated with treatment at home.
